in this video we will be determining outcomes of compound events the easy way so in the past videos we talked about determining outcomes of compound events such as having two different colored pants and three different colored shirts we did that by creating table tree diagram and then we also used this number cube labeled zero through five and this coin with heads or tails to find the different possible combinations now today i'm going to show you the easy way to do that okay and we can just use math so looking at this number cube there are five different possibilities on here and there are two different possibilities here which is heads or tails and here have the numbers zero through five if you multiply those together that should let you know and i'm sorry it's actually six it's number zero through five that there are six possible combinations because of the zero and if you see that there and you multiply that it will be 12 possible outcomes okay let's take look at this one know we also talked about the shirts in another video so here we have one two three color shirts and then we also have what two pair of pants if we multiply those together we should have six possible outcomes okay one last one what happens if have and go to the store and see some bread right have two types of breads have loaf or you can get roll okay so there's two different types and then each one of these come in four different flavors you have the wheat multigrain the rye and the well there's one two three four if you multiply those together and you end up creating an organized table list or tree diagram you will easily be able to see that there should be eight possible outcomes in this video we talked about determining the outcomes of compound events the easy way by using multiplication
