Welcome to Math with Mr. In this video, I'm going to cover what scalene triangle is. Now, simply put, for scalene triangle, none of the sides are the same length. And that's it. It's as simple as that. Now, when we take look at types of triangles or classifying triangles, we can classify by either the sides or the angles. Scalene triangles are type of triangle based on the sides. Here are couple of examples of scalene triangles. For number one, you can see that all of the sides are different. We have 6 10 and 8 So, none of the sides are the same length. So, this is scalene triangle. For number two, we don't have the side lengths written out like we do for number one, but we have tick marks on each side of that triangle that do tell us we have scalene triangle. This side has one mark, this side has two, and this side has three. That tells us that none of those sides are the same length. Since all of those sides have different number of marks, different number of ticks, that means all of those sides are different. They are not the same length. Therefore, we have scalene triangle. Now, one last thing do want to mention about scalene triangles, none of the angles end up being equal, either. So, something to keep in mind. So, there you have it. There's what scalene triangle is.
