Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah. Yeah. Can you turn this the speaker around? Can you come? knew something was off. Yeah. It's like facing the the window there. Very good. Now we know someone played around this way. We ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala to bless this gathering to shower upon us with his mercy toward you all for joining and participating. May Allah subhana wa ta'ala accept from us all and make us sincere in what we say and what we do. Sisters, how are you? Brothers, how are you? Everyone's doing well. Okay, let's begin. Inshallah. So, inshallah, we'll cover the sixth pillar of the pillars of faith. And again, all of this is part of the shahada, part of the shahada, the five pillars of Islam. The first one is to believe to bear witness and testify there is no god except Allah and Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam being the messenger of Allah. So from that we took on the six pillars of Imam. We spoke about belief in the angels, the books, the prophets and the hereafter. And inshallah now we will talk about Allah subhana wa ta'ala's decree. If anything that may summarize the understanding of it is that it is Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's knowledge of things his of things his awareness and knowledge of things where he subh and again you see it here that Allah subhana wa ta'ala knows when they will occur. Thank you in specific time in specific manner. All of that is part of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's knowledge and part of of his and of course the of Allah if we can give it some modern terms the of Allah is Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala strategy of how allowing how he allows this world to function. The is how Allah allows this world to function and how he makes things go about. So when person wants to fully understand the of Allah, they are trying to understand Allah subhana wa ta'ala's strategy and that is impossible to be understood. You and can never wrap our heads around Allah subhana wa ta'ala strategy. This is what makes Allah Allah. So everything that we see we may understand at times and at times for the most part we may know nothing about. And when the prophet sallallah.aii Wasam of course and even in our tradition was asked about there's not there's not much to respond to when the Sahabah asked about the just give us some information about the spirit what does it look like how does it feel how does it function they asked you about the spirit the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam was told this is knowledge that belongs to Allah. And you have many people that write about about Allah subhana wa ta's decree. And of course, they fail in describing divine decree. Why? Because you're trying to explain to people how Allah functions and how Allah goes about matters where this is private information that Allah kept to himself, but you are just analyzing and assessing the functionality of the world based on limited information. So for the most part you will go wrong. It just makes sense for person to go wrong. And this is why we just say Allah Allah knows best. Allah knows best. Allah subhana wa ta'ala in the Quran he says that anything that takes place around the world is something that Allah subhana wa ta'ala has known about and documented before your creation. So this is part of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's knowledge. You and are not forced to do what we do. We have freedom of choice. And of course, but Allahh does know. But are you forced to do what you're doing? No. There's group that that in in Islamic history that were called algebra. Al Jabria was group that tried to justify their actions by saying all of it was forced by Allah. So you steal Allah. All Allah told my hand to steal. you you kill Allah wanted me to kill so everything was justified in their eyes no person is held accountable and we know that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is all just like how can Allah order for something to happen and then you as an insan face the consequences of such actions say if there's capital punishment due to an act that person may commit how can Allah decree this then order this and then you're doomed regardless regardless like wherever you go. No, person has the freedom to choose. If we knew Allah's decree, that would have been form of oppression. If we knew, it's like, okay, so why should do good if know already I'm going to hell? No, we don't know anything. This is knowledge that Allah has kept to himself. This is part of Allah's Allah's knowledge. It has nothing to do with what Allah wants to do with you. Allah is all aware and Allah knows. He knows what happened in the past and he knows subhanah what will happen in the future. So everything is under Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's watch because it is part of of this of the system. And of course when you're talking about the functionality of the world, all of it was designed by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala even before the creation of the heavens and the earth. The prophet sallallah.aii wasallam says in hadith when someone asks okay just said the hadith so it's too late to ask. When someone asks you what is the first creation of Allah, it's the pen. The first creation of Allah is the pen. And this is why many think that throwing pen or believe that throwing pen is maku. It's disliked. Why? Because we just throw pens in the garbage all the time and we throw it around. But the the scholars would would honor the pen. Because in the hadith the first thing that was created by Allah was the pen. And the moment he created the pen he instructed subhan Allah then ordered the pen to write and that pen wrote through Allah subhana wa ta'ala's knowledge what will happen to the end of time. But it is all part of his his knowledge. We move on. know many people hear and right they say this is and they translate it by just saying Allah subhana wa ta's decree. Who knows the difference between and just if you've heard of them if you if you haven't then I'm going to explain it regardless. Now based on what you've heard in the past and many people just mix the two together this is part of Allah's or they say this is part of Allah's who knows the difference between the two Allah has already predetermined for you will happen no matter what. Okay. Okay. Come on. until you think that is something that Yeah. But what if Allahh has wrote it long time ago? So that's what you're saying. Well, you flipped it. Yes. So that's the Okay. So when it happens, it's Yeah. But when Allah decreed, he decreed in the past. But you can change by can alter your Okay. So you're saying that that is more of the present because dua may change your and not your That's good point. You have good point too of want to make sure you understand it. So I'm flipping it back on you. So you said that so it's first then it becomes okay. So I'm asking why not the opposite? Because is based on what Allah decrees not what we decreed. We're nothing. to us our knowledge. Yeah. It's not going to be happen. Why? Who said that? This is so like when it happened, it's considered mali. Okay. Okay. This is good point. Everyone's mentioning good points. You all are good. So, so the difference between and is Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala allowing it to come to existence whatever it is just the general understanding of whatever Allah has decreed is the details is details. So it is part of Allah's that someone will get sick due to Allah subhana ta's knowledge. Now you have whatever that is there are more details to it. Dua affects that you have the power and this is why the when they talk about both they say you also have influence on making dua that Allah subhana wa ta'ala removes whatever was decreed on you like it's part of the functionality of the world that when you touch something hot it's part of Allah's that you will burn your hand can someone are there exceptions yes can Someone make dua at some given time that you know so the of Allah is that you touch you burn okay there are some details in the process can be saved that is part of the you can make dua and Allah subhana wa ta'ala can save you there are things that Allah through his knowledge knows will occur will occur and the angels are not given all of that information there. This is knowledge that Allah has kept to himself. The for an example this is just dumb example. I'm just giving you an example. It is part of the that the angels know that this cup of water will drop. Okay? Whatever challenge you are facing, have the ability to make dua. to make dua and ask Allah subhana wa ta'ala for this decree to change. The angels are unknown. They don't know about me making dua. This is personal relationship have with Allah subhana tala. So this is supposed to fall. make dua. It doesn't fall. Are things changing? Yes. This is when Allah commands the angels. Just give you an example. Whatever it is in life to make sure that this cup stays firm and does not fall even though it was written for it to fall. Say an angel was supposed to come knock it down. Allah then commands the angels without them even knowing why they're coming to knock it down. Allah says, "Hold it firm." And that shows you the power of your dua. Allah is the only one that is capable of changing what is in the books and the angels themselves know nothing about it. Allah says Allah can allow things to remain or Allah can remove. Like when you do good, when you do good, the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam says whomsoever wants their life to expand and their money to increase then connect with their families. Your kingship like be good towards them. And some believe that Allah really extends your life. Like if your life was made 70 years, Allah does prolong your life as reward. The angels don't know nothing about the angel of death can be on his way to take away your soul and then the angel of death is informed that Allah has prolonged that life this only shows you the power of your dua that you can change things you are capable of changing and Allah subhana wa ta may answer your dua he may not answer that particular dua but can change through divine commands So again is it coming to existence are the details and this may change through the power of Allah do we fully fully comprehend the concept of and what is best for us what's bad for us okay it's not good for me now it's caused me lot of harm we will never wrap our heads around it this is whatever shared with you is like almost the furthest we can go with Allah subhana wa ta's decree because It's not meant for us to fully process how Allah wills for things to happen because you're going to say, "Okay, what if this person is going through this?" How about children around the world? We don't know. We don't know the wise. But what we know for fact is that we are judging based on our understanding of time, our understanding of events, and our understanding of how you know what the outcome is. like how we perceive suffering. We again are looking. Subhan Allah. You know, even when you look up to the sky and you see those stars, those stars that you're looking at don't even exist anymore. They were gone for years and years and years, you're just seeing the end of it. Like it's not even there. Like your capacity and my capacity to process the world, our is nothing. The prophet sallall alaihi wasallam said the world's knowledge of the functionality of the world is like drop in the middle of the sea. So for this insan for this human being to come and think that have to wrap my head around everything it doesn't happen. So what we say we understand these are just basic basic things that we need to know. Number one we need to know that Allah knows everything. This is when we're talking about theology, it's necessary to understand that Allah knows everything. Number two, it's necessary to understand that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala allowed it to happen. It doesn't mean that he agreed and loved for it to happen. It was part of the process. It just happened. This is how the world functions. When you have an oppressive regime and they're killing, it is part of the process of the functionality of the world that people will be killed. If you take knife and you put it in someone's throat, does it mean that Allah wished for that to happen? No. Allah allowed knife to cut the throat and for the skin to be cut by knife. Like this is just how the world function. You put your hand in the fire, you know for sure your hand is burning. You can't just say I'm going to test Allah's. Allah has allowed fire to burn. Subhan Allah. So understanding that it happened through the knowledge of Allah. Number three, when it comes to Allah subhana wa ta'ala's decree, it's necessary to understand that when it happens, it has nothing to do with how much Allah loves you or the absence of Allah's love. Like never connect Allah's decree to love. Now, why am going through this? think Allah doesn't love me. Don't connect the two. Like Allah knows why things are happening. But Shanan always wants you and to somehow bring these two together. If I'm going through difficulty, Allah dislikes me. If my life is good and things are running smooth for me, then Allah subhana wa ta'ala loves me. I've shared this in in talks before about Musatam. It's about the of Allah and and how Allahh's decree and how to process it just as normal human being. You know the story of Mus Alatam in when MS met the righteous man and they went through journey right and MS was asked to follow to follow him and to learn from him. So they get on ship and the first thing this is in the Quran. The first thing that righteous man does is that he breaks hole in the ship and then Mus Alatam begins to question like how can you do something you know so destructive to group of people that welcomed you on their ship. asked MS to begin with, do not excessively ask about what I'm doing. Okay, so that was the first part. The second part was the killing of the child. MS says, how can you kill child? Like it just makes no sense. Whatever you're doing makes no sense. And then he moves on to the third event that took place which was alatam and walking into village asking for sustenance asking for food completely denied and rejected and they find broken wall and they rebuild the wall. He said how can you rebuild the wall and treat these people the way you did knowing that they've caused us harm? Allah subhana wa ta'ala then of course responds to all of this in the Quran in regards to the ship. It was broken. Why? Because there was an oppressive king at shore that was waiting for every ship perfect shipped any perfect ship that arrives under excellent condition it will be taken by the king. So the moment they found the hole they're like okay we don't want this. We don't want this ship. So it was saved. The child the child was killed at young age. Why? Because Allahh says he would have been disobedient child and would have caused his parents extreme harm. Okay. The third one, why did you rebuild that wall? Because this wall was owned by two orphans that had righteous parents. So regardless of the tribe, it was the two orphans that Allah made you protect. So Allah's decree revolved around these three. The first one was the ship. They understood the moment they arrived to shore, right? Say that was half day or day, right? From the moment they got on the ship to the moment they arrived, say it was an hour to Allah, but it was very close. some of Allah's decree you will immediately know like within your lifetime you'll understand so it took MS maybe five hours the moment they arrived to say wow now know why you did what you did so it's possible that you know within day or two or week or two and you're like wahi now know why Allah chose this for me the second form of Allah's decree is something that your mind will never process which is the killing of the child. Like it would never make sense to you. Even though I'll be honest with you as imam, it's made sense to me when see parents. Subhan Allah. And this has happened, you know, times and times with parents that have come that were hit by their own kids. They wish that they died as young kids. Like I've witnessed that. I've witnessed it. It's just many in may Allah never make us among those whom experience it. But when you have 75year-old that was beat by 20-year-old like beat to the floor and broke his hip, trust me, that parent says, wish my ch my my son died when he was young." So understand this ayah. I'm just saying for those that don't understand it, understand what it means for someone to die early because of the harm they have caused their parents. know also another son that hit his mother and broke her leg. Like so, so when Allah subhana wa tala, but again, some people may not understand it, but this is part of Allah's decree that there are certain things that you and just cannot wrap our heads around and it will take the day of judgment to know why Allah decreed what he decreed. It's like some people try to explain what happened in it's hard for the just typical human mind and intellect to easily process all the children dying. It's hard. It's just hard. But we say Allah knows best and we will understand it on the day of judgment. Even if we you might see the positives and the world changing and the world's narrative is Allah knows best. Number three was them rebuilding the wall. them rebuilding the wall. The parents passed away and they died long time ago. So they were fixing the wall of the orphans not because they were orphans but because their parents were righteous. So at times you may understand the decree of Allah after some time. It may be 10 years. It may be 15 years. So one is immediate, the second one is never. The third one is after some time. And you and are between these three. And subhan Allah, it might be year, it might be two, it might be 30. But as believers, we truly believe that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows no knows best. And we just say Allah Allah subhana wa ta'ala this breaks it. You know if anyone wants to write these down the types of the that does not change the that changes some believe and is all the same thing by the way just to let you know we were just trying to be more technical but some believe it's all the same. So that does not change is just this is what's going to happen that changes through your prayer. that is understood and that is understood with time and that is never understood. And think we explained it through the story of Mus Alatam. But do we fully understand how Allah works? No. And as we said, it is divine strategy and how Allah allows the world to function. And it is almost impossible for us to fully comprehend the will of Allah and the decree of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. May Allahh give us the im. By the way, im is always difficult my brothers and sisters. Islam is easier than iman. Eman is belief. It requires you and to believe. So we don't have much details about the angels like are they here now and they're flying or we don't know exactly what's happening but we we believe. So it does necessitate belief and it requires that person says listen and obey because you and are dealing with the unseen. So it's hard. It is hard but again we see what we see from Allah subhana wa ta'ala and his ability to control the world and his power to give us what he is giving us. So what we have and what we can see leads to believing in that which we don't see like see the effects of Allah around me. see the sustenance. see my health and how can sit here and lecture and everything. There are companies in your body, companies, tens and tens of companies in your body that allows you to be who you are right now. And all of that is happening and you and don't even think about it for second. So see the ability of Allah, the power of Allah, the might of Allah through me. So because see that, I'm okay with trusting Allah with the two to 3% that my mind may not comprehend. And that's how we go with with with and again it's one of the most difficult chapters in Islamic theology theology in in general like you have pastor or or priest you have scholars from the Christian faith from the Jewish faith people in Islamic faith that have written about because it is one of the most difficult chapters in in Islamic theology and it's very difficult for people to wrap their heads around it. May Allahh accept. You can write down your questions. We'll take it in the end. Okay. Now we're going to move on to something called something called is the responsibility and obligation. So you are called someone that is given clear task and responsibility. So when you want to send someone to do something you say you are given the responsibility to do this and that. So again, this is like you you you and have to fully understand these words because you're going to hear them in in and and read them in many books, especially in books of the fundamentals of they talk about okay, who is responsible? Who is not responsible? When do they become responsible? So so understanding that solves lot of of problems. So you have something called means responsibility and obligations. Who is who is responsible from law perspective in Islam? Who is responsible? Who is given the responsibility? For an example, let's talk about prayer. Let's talk about zaka which is the annual dues. Let's talk about fasting. Okay, these are obligations, right? So these are okay. Who is mk? Muslim. That's one iss right. So if someone's insane and someone is struggling then like they don't receive the commands like they're they're insane. They have they have issues. So number one Muslim is malik is what? Puberty. They reach the age of puberty. So if someone is kid you can't force them to pray. know we try to do that as parents, right? But if they have not yet reached the age of puberty, there's still room there. Train them, but they're not held accountable. They're not held accountable. And by the way, remember I'm just sharing what happened, but there was case in Yemen. was part of this case where young kid killed an adult, okay? And we were in the court system and then there was lot of back and forth, but this kid is capable of holding weapon, okay? So, it it was sensitive case like he took gun, he's capable of shooting. Like if you go to the shooting ranges here, you you'll find like they're teaching them at 10 to learn how to shoot. It's just the Muslims are scared to go, you know, but the white people are always there shooting, you know, from 10, they're wearing the army suits and everything. They're just shooting. They're ready to go. And so this kid shot an adult and killed him. And of course, there were both sides and everyone was fighting. And then there was lawyer there was lawyer that passed by. This lawyer is very spiritual and amazing lawyer. He's one of the top lawyers in Yemen. And he heard the yelling and was shocked to see him. was like, So gave him salam because he he lives close to us. He's like neighbor. And and then he heard what was happening. So he immediately took on the case. He just said, "You know what? I'm going to do this case for free. And this is in court. This was all happening in court. And subhan Allah, he gets up and the court starts, the court hearing starts. And he says hadith. He says that the intentional acts of kid is mistake. So yes, he intentionally killed, but you will not give him the penalty of killing intentional. Because now there's two different rulings in Islam. If you kill someone by mistake and you kill them intentional, okay, it's not the same in Islam. So if you kill someone with gun, okay, the consequences is that you have to be killed. There are consequences. But if you kill someone driving and it was by mistake. It's not the same end result. Yeah. Yeah. But but there are you you have to pay blood money, right? But you can't just say this person's going to be killed. No, didn't mean it. Like we both got into car accident and that person died. So he immediately used that hadith and that was the end of the case. Why? Because he did not reach the age of even though he intentionally did it. But he is not held accountable accordingly. Doesn't mean that kids are just going to start go shooting you know like okay want to kill someone. I'm going to send kid like so it doesn't work like that. But the end point is it shows you how important is that person is responsible the moment they reach the age of of puberty. So this is when accountability begins and this is why some believe that when kids do wrong pre- pub puberty the parent is held accountable. So if kids do something wrong before and Allah subhana forgives but they say the parents are responsible in terms of sinning like you you this parent couldn't preserve their child till the age of 12 or 13 and this kid is all out and about but once they reach the age of puberty the angels begin to document that's it they have their own books now so that's when kicks There are there's something called this is the five this is the four points that we mentioned the five categories of law it's called the five categories of law again if you ever hear it in class it's called number One is or who knows what waj is that which is obligated. You are rewarded for doing it and sinned for not doing it. So and are the same when we say is you have to pray you have to pray the five prayers you have to fast the month of Ramadan. All of these are wajat. So if you are talking about the categories of law, the first one is that which is mandatory. If you do it, you are rewarded. If you leave it, you are sinned. And we gave you the example of salah fasting. If you if you miss your fast, then you are sinned. If you miss your zakah, your annual dues, you are sinned. All of these are obligatory acts. So if you hear someone say doing this is must in Islam, it means that person is sinned when it is not performed. So that is called waj. The second point the second category is called mandub. Mandub is that person mandub is encouraged. Okay mandub something that is mandub is encouraged. There's second word that is used for andu who knows. Okay. What else? So if you ever hear someone say it's mandu means encouraged preferred and sunnah is the actions of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam. So if you hear any of these words it means you're just encouraged to do it. Okay. Anything that is mand preferred liked recommended by the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam you are rewarded for doing it and you are not sinned for leaving it. Okay. But that doesn't mean that we belittle the sunnah. Like if you hear that the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam did something then it is our responsibility to follow the prophet's footsteps because he is our role model. We follow his guidance. But if someone sinned, could you speak to someone relieving sunnah as though they committed major sin? No. Was sunnah at the end of the day. Yes, we love the prophet and we should follow the prophet, but you shouldn't, you know, make it or overexaggerate this process where person now is an evil person. So orah which is recommended, liked, preferred is an act that you are rewarded for and you are not sinned when neglecting or neglected when when it is neglected. Number three, whatever Islam has asked you and not to do that is haram. And haram is very big word by the way. think people people underestimate how how dangerous it is to say something is haram. When you tell people think you should refrain from this act. You say no but give me good answer. Just tell me yes or no. It's not it's not that easy. You can't always tell people yes or no because haram is big word that people throw at times. Like haram necessitates consequences. Like if you drink there are consequences in this world and the hereafter and and you know what's dangerous at times when we throw the word haram which is dislike no sorry prohibited forbidden right when you throw that word lightly and it's thrown for everything people don't know when to take it serious like this is haram this is haram this is haram this is prohibited this is prohibited this is prohibited okay then people really don't know when to stop. So we should not we should never throw that word lightly. This is why the would never rush to say something is haram. They would say ask you to refrain from this. recommend that you stay away from this. think this is not good for you. think they would come up with so many words just to take this word so serious that the moment you hear something is haram, you take step back. And this is why Allah subhana said what's the Allah subhana considers this one of the greatest if not the greatest form of lying is to say when something is permissible or impermissible knowing that you're lying lying against Allah. So lying against Allah is one of the greatest sins that person may commit. To say that Allah said this is wrong and it's not wrong or to say something is allowed that Allah has made prohibited. This is one of the greatest sins that person can ever commit to speak on behalf of Allah. Now we know how serious it is when we're talking about people's issues. Just say, no, think this is haram." What do you mean you think it's haram? It has to be haram. If you're not sure, just don't say think. Just stay away from it. You know, some they say halal and is like Islam and okay, saying something is allowed and not allowed is equivalent to saying that someone is Muslim or non-Muslim. Like if someone walks in right now and they're committing sin, can you easily say, think this person is disbeliever." No one here will say that. Why? Because you're scared. You know if you call someone disbeliever and you just reach that conclusion the prophet sallall alaihi wasallam said within that gathering someone leaves as as disbeliever. It means that if that person was not deserving of that title immediately you become the disbeliever. That's how scary it is. It's like literally call think Ahmed is is is disbeliever because and we say it with so much pride like we know what we're saying and if Allah knows that person is believer and you just threw that you know you just accuse that person you have to declare your shahada because you've committed an act of disbelief because you accused someone with disbelief. So and haram is very serious. So let's not rush. You know, it's form of worship. It's form of worship that when you give someone the power to tell you what's halal and haram, you are literally worshiping them. When you're giving someone the power to tell you do this, don't do that. You're worshiping them. This is why we only worship Allah. Only Allah legislates and tells you and what is permissible and what is impermissible. That's the haram. Makru. Makru is the disliked. There are things that the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam disliked. Okay? If you refrain from engaging in that, you are rewarded. But if you do it, you are not sinned. can give you an example. We don't do this, but I'm just letting you just giving you an example how culture goes very far. All right? I've I've seen people that again I'm part of these gatherings. I'm just sharing with you. If we were at at an event and say someone was eating with their left man, saw that person eating with their left. Wall will never listen to that person's lectures again. Okay. Did he commit haram or mak like? Okay. It's disliked. The prophet ate with his left, with his right. And the prophet told us not to eat with our left. But when the prophet said, "Don't eat with your left," was he saying it that it is impermissible and haram or is it disliked? No, it's disliked. It's disliked. So this idea that yes, we should never eat with our left. But howan makes us overexaggerate where this becomes breaking point that this person is committing major sin. You see, it's just understanding the differences. So person is not sinned. So if someone again this is not us pushing or we eat with our right because that's what the prophet told us to do. But if person is eating with their left do we immediately say this person is sitting. No they're not sitting. So when it comes to something that is disliked you are rewarded if you stay away from it. We're going to stay away from it by eating with our right. But you are not sinned upon acting on it like person. So that's the definition of makru. There are many things right like there's hadith that okay you know how many people commit makru when they urine urinate standing up brothers it's like to show you cultural Islam right eating with the left is like the biggest no but that same person goes and urinates standing up. Okay. Urinating standing up is more disliked than eating with your left and that's agreed upon because some believe it's haram. No believes eating with your left is prohibited. But some scholars believe standing up and urinating is prohibited because you get yourself dirty in the process. You dirty everything. And the prophet sallall alaihi wasallam never did it. And the only time he did it, he was in work and he was with people. So there was no way for him to sit down. And this is why our mother Aisha said, "Anyone that says the prophet urinated standing up is lying against Allah and his messenger because she never witnessed it." Because at home the prophet never did it. So Aisha would accuse the prophet's companions for making those accusations because she's like, "It's impossible. lived with this man and he never did it." And you guys are just saying he went one time and he just did it here. So it shows you but it's disliked. Is someone sinned? No. Is it an act that is disliked in Islam? Yes. So what what do we do? We refrain from it. so that is makru mak. So if you hear someone say this is disliked or something this is makru then we know that that this is something let's just stay away from it. Mubah Mubah is allowed something that is allowed. Okay. There are things that Sharia speaks about that is allowed. It doesn't mean that Sharia is advocating for it. People don't understand. Like when something is allowed, it doesn't mean that Sharia says because you're allowed to do this just go ahead and do it. Okay. You want me to give you an example? Okay. Islam came to fight slavery. And this is why for every crime or missing out on major you have to free slave. You free slave. You free Islam came to get rid of them like of of slaves. Islam came to abolish and to just eliminate slavery from the Islamic system and to free everyone. Okay. But Islam couldn't force that upon everyone through the prophet sallall alaihi wasallam like it was part of the system. So morally Islam fought it. Okay? And it's clear in our tradition. And then Islam reintroduced laws that they eat like you, drink like you. And throughout Islamic history, it was more of job than it than the way it was practiced, especially here in America. Completely different. This is why people have an issue with it. It was completely different. They study with you. They go with you. They just work for you. They work for you. And then even that there are clear lines and boundaries. You can't break families. You can't do this. And if you marry or you are if you marry the if you marry her then she is immediately free and then the kids are there are so many laws that people are just unaware of. And all of this was part of the past but with all the restrictions Islam came to fight it. Okay. If if this was something that Islam did not immediately end because there was clear system that Islam was fighting and it takes time. Does that mean that because Islam went through the gradual process that now this is something that is allowed on the 21st century? No. Not at all. It's wrong. No one says it's okay. Why? If something was okay then it doesn't mean it's okay for the next 2,000 years. It's just Islam had to go through the system and doing it now is prohibited because Islam never introduced it. Islam just dealt with it and then gave it laws and set boundaries and it cleansed it up and then packaged it in way where within few years everyone is free. Can someone say but Islam didn't say it's prohibited so think we can have slaves. No, you say you are sinning. Okay. So, and what makes Mubah what makes Mubah something that is allowed even when it comes to countries and laws, Mubah is dictated by the government or time and place. Okay? Anything that is allowed, Islam, Islam just didn't talk about as much. The government can come and just say, you know what, based on our assessments, this is very harmful. And because of that there is new law that you are not allowed to practice this. So there's lot of freedom in muba. So when you hear Islam you know this is allowed in Islam don't always think that if it's allowed it's recommended. No it's not sunnah it's not mand it's not recommended it's not liked. It's just something that Islam did not talk about and then now it has to be looked into by the government and to see what are the best practices and then that's how they go about it. Is that understood? Let me give you one sensitive topic. know women you're going to get mad about this but it's okay. You know how they say in the Quran the Quran says about striking women. Okay. Islam was addressing group of people where you there were women that were oppressing the relationship and they committed nush. They committed nush. Nush is complete rejection and losing value of this relationship where they are destroying whatever they have due to an emotional response. So they are wrong. Allah is talking about them being wrong. And when that takes place, Allah subhana wa ta'ala says there is process. There's wow that you you advise them with love. That's what wow Allah Allah never said give them advice. That's Allah says do wow. There has to be love. So this immediate aggressiveness and anger all that is haram. like you're not allowed. If someone understands the ayah in this way, they're committing haram. Then Allah says is distant yourself from them. Like we will no longer sleep together. Like you can't say someone is wrong during the day, but you want to sleep with them at night. It means this issue is not an issue. She's doing nothing wrong. You're just emotional. No, you know what? We're going to keep distance for month because you have you're just say if it is going out 11 p.m. with our friends and we know the environment just can't associate with you for the next month and so you wake up and you change your practice. The most extreme that per Islam when it came to the ayah of striking it was setting the extreme. It wasn't setting the minimal. This is where people go wrong and they now they try to justify the verse and Islam says the most extreme man can go is to strike them with toothbrush. That's it. That is just to bring awareness. If you're living at time where men have taken advantage of that where it becomes domestic abuse, right? and they say but Quran says can hit the or the immediately responds by saying hitting in Islam is haram because it's misunderstood and people are taking it to their advantage to justify their misbehaviors and their aggressiveness and their toughness and their oppression and it's all through an Islamic lens. Islam didn't say go ahead and do it. Islam is saying that's the furthest you can do. So it is allowed. But if men are taking advantage of it immediately the sheh has to reverse that mubak and just say because you're abusing it it's haram. Moving forward because no one here that can tell you from me no one know has been so patient with their wives and the furthest they went they just took like like remote and they said you need to watch out. I've never heard that. It's always smack. So you tell the man what you just did is haram and you cannot use Allah subhana wa ta's words because you've gone extreme. You guys understand what mubakah is now. Okay? And woman gets sensitive with this. So you don't have to ask questions but we'll talk about it later. But I'm just giving you an idea of what mubak is. It's not the command of Allah. So if if if someone's acting smart and they say, "Yeah, but Allah gave us per commanded." No, no, no. Allah spoke about it. And if it goes wrong, it can be restricted. Now you know why like I'll give you an example. There are certain laws that changed from the time of the prophet sallall alaihi wasallam. Can someone say Omar was the prophet's second man? So Abu Bakr was number one in line. Omar was second in line, the second kiff, secondh. There were certain things that Omar changed. Some some people are shocked. They say, "Yeah, but Omar means the that Omar the second leader in command changed what the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam did." Like if he was true follower of the prophet, he should have never changed things. No, there were certain mubahhat things that were allowed that were okay in the prophet's time that became harmful in the time of so the government can come and just say because this is harmful nowadays and there's more negative than positive we're going to change it I'm just telling you an idea of what is so you have what's mandatory which is encouraged which is which is prohibited something that is disliked And is something that is allowed. Does anyone have questions so far? Go ahead. The shoes. What about shoes? the shoes. thought you said shoes. was like, I'm not even I'm wearing sandals today, too. So again, some believe nish is cheating. The definition of when lady commits something that allows her husband to allow things to escalate. Some believe so is not again is the lady rebelling. Okay? If the husband asks his wife to do one thing and she says no, is that considered the shoes? No. And there's no in the world that has said that. Just to let you know historically. But if there is if she rebelss in the relationship, if she rebels, but again again there's so much like it's unfair to talk about one side and not talk about the other. You know, there there's so many things within this dynamic to allow the guy to do what he's doing like guy can also be too like he's rebelling in this relationship but there are different consequences when guy does it you know like I'll give you an example if the guy rebels in relationship and and and this is guys don't want to talk about I'm just giving you an example this is going to mess up my whole talk but if if guy rebelss in relationship and he continues to do something wrong. You know how when the lady asks for divorce, she has to give back the mah, right? She has to give back the late gift, the late diary, whatever it is. And even she she doesn't receive it. She gives the early diary. I'm sorry. So if the guy gifted her, say I'm just giving you an amount. Say gifted her 20,000 as right as her gift. So before the relationship, they agreed that he's going to give her ring and 20,000 for her to buy whatever she wants to buy. Just give you an example. If lady asks for divorce, then she is obligated to give this money back to the guy, okay? Because she's initiating divorce. If the guy commits no shoes where he's rebelling against this relationship and he's out and about and having fun and doing his thing and the lady continues to say don't do this, don't do this. This is not good for us. She can go to the judge or the imam say want divorce and I'm not giving him anything in return because he has rebelled on this relationship. And the government says okay you're right. So it may go against the guys too, but there's if lady gets up and smacks guy, he's going to smack her back. So Islam is not going to recommend, you know what, just get up and hit your husband. You know, it's it's different thing. She might strike him with remote and he's going to hit her. So Islam also protects, but she has full authority to go to the judge. Now, when the lady commits the shoes, which also happens, don't want women to think like, it never happens." there are times where women rebel. If it's affecting the relationship then they go through these stages. Okay. Some say the rebel here is her cheating like it's that extreme then he has to go through these stages and cheating here say if she's emotionally talking to and subhan Allah they say so this ayah is more mercy because even if like what happens if someone catches their wife doing something you know it's just it's the end of it so even through that some believe that these are the stages that person has to go through and their is that Allah says give them advice because they're doing something wrong. So if she continues to rebel and she does not prioritize this relationship and the kids and to preserve it and comes in and just says you know what she is going wrong then they go through these stages. That's the shoes. So it's intentional being an intentional rebellion. Okay guys, why you guys getting me into this stuff? But let me tell you one thing. In the end, I'm firm believer that Sharia is the best. do believe that culture destroys how we process Sharia. But if people agree or disagree with what we share, it means nothing. It means nothing. People can say, "But disagree with what you said." People like sometimes people just tell them, "Good for you. don't care." Like who cares what you think? Like we're just telling you what dean says and this is what Allah said and Allah knows best and am telling you based on living with the community for 21 years wake up thinking about you guys sleeping thinking about you guys. believe Sharia is the best because you see all the problems and but it only see it only someone that sees these problems realizes how beautiful Dean is but they also know and understand what where people go and abuse the system. Everyone, we're going to open up for Q&A. Inshallah, we'll start with the prophet sallall alaihi wasallam next week and then we'll go into purification. Inshallah and salah.
