it difficult at times encourage our hearts to persevere strengthen us with the powerful truth that this temporary hunger is producing an eternal weight of Glory within us as we deny our physical Cravings may we become increasingly attuned to the hunger and thirst of our souls for more of you fan into flame our spiritual appetites let the intensity of our fasting stir up deeper longing for the bread of your word and the Living Waters of your presence when weariness weighs us down remind us that we do not fast in our own strength but by the power of your spirit at work within us it is your grace that enables us to lay aside the Cravings of the flesh and set our minds on the things of the spirit thank you that your power is perfected in our weakness we choose to rejoice in this time of fasting and prayer for we know that as we humble ourselves under your Mighty hand you will exalt Us in due time you have promised blessing healing righteousness and answered prayers to those who fast according to your desires so we wait with joyful expectation to see your hand move mightily in our lives replace any complaining or grumbling with grateful heart focused on your goodness and provision though we abstain from food our souls can continually Feast at the banqueting table of Your Love We lack no good thing for you are Our Shepherd leading Us beside Still Waters and restoring our souls as we are emptied of Our Own Strength may we be filled to overflowing with your spirit's power presence and peace that transcends understanding let this fast be vessel through which your rivers of living water flow out from our innermost beings to thirsty world so we press on faithful to this calling to draw near to you through fasting and prayer we trust that you who have begun this good work within us will bring it to completion you are the author and perfector of our faith as we conclude this time of prayer may the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts be pleasing in your sight Lord our Rock and Our Redeemer we commit this fast fully to you and your purposes may it be sweet Aroma spiritual act of worship that honors your name we surrender ourselves aresh to be spent For Your Glory and the building of your kingdom when our fast is over and we break our fast may we Feast on you with renewed passion and in Vigor let this time have refined us realigned our priorities and restored our first love for you thank you for your faithfulness to sustain us and see us through to the end of this fast we have tasted and seen that you are good our everpresent help in times of
