the attached pronouns are called in Arabic the characteristics of these pronouns are these are meaning definite nouns number two these are ma meaning they have fixed case ending number three these are either man meaning in the accusative case or maj meaning in the genitive case and number four these can be attached to noun verb or particle these pronouns are Maj when attached to noun or particle and when attached to verb these are considered man okay as mentioned in some of my previous lessons there are two reasons of noun being in the genitive case which are number one when noun is in genitive phrase in Arab for example in the book in Arabic is where is and is noun in the genitive case so if have to say in it in Arabic say where is and at the end is and it is considered ma because of preceding it now the reason number two is when noun is that is in relative phrase in Arabic for example Allah's messenger in Arabic is where the noun is ISM meaning noun meaning in the nominative case and meaning it is possessed and the noun Allah is ISM meaning noun it is ma meaning in the genitive case and it is meaning the possessor so if have to say his messenger in Arabic say where is meaning noun in the nominative case and possessed as explained above and the letter attach to it is meaning attached pronoun it is considered meaning in the genitive case and the reason of it being in the genitive case is that it is meaning the possessor okay so the points to be noted are that whenever you see pronoun attached to noun there is no doubt it is relative phrase that is as the phrase meaning his messenger where is is noun and at the end attached to it is an attached pronoun and whenever you see pronoun attached to particle there is no doubt it is genitive phrase for example from him or it in Arabic is min where Min is and attached to it is an attached pronoun fine now let's explore third person attached pronouns in today's lesson inshallah third person in Arabic is referred as as learned in the previous lesson then according to jins meaning gender nouns are either muak meaning masculine or mu meaning feminine and each of these two categories are further divided according to meaning number which is meaning singular meaning dual and meaning plural okay I've already explained all of these terms in detail so let's start with third person singular masculine which is ha for example his book in Arabic say say in his book say in it say and from it say you see in all of these four examples the pronunciation of ha is not the same in the first example said then said and then and finally said there are certain rules for pronouncing the attached pronoun if there is or before it it will be prolonged with for example and number two if there is KAS before it it will be prolonged with KAS for example and number three if there is before it it will be pronounced with normal for example and and number four if there is before it it will be pronounced with normal for example and okay now how do we say Allah and his messenger we say where Allah is noun in the nominative case and the letter is conjunction and is is meaning noun meaning in the nominative case and it is meaning it is possessed and the pronoun is meaning an attached pronoun it is meaning it is fixed with and meaning it is in the position of genitive case because it is the possessor then we have the attached pronoun for third person dual masculine which is for example ab ab means father means there but referring to two entities so Abu means their father here they refers to two entities because of the pronoun likewise means their school okay then we have the attached pronoun for third person plural masculine which is for example means the Lord and when wh is attached to it it becomes meaning their lord so means their lord is Allah now let's have look at verse from Surah ibraim verse 50 here in the beginning of the verse we have which is relative phrase meaning the which is means garments and it is the plural ofal meaning garment so means their garments then we have meaning from tar so means the garments from tar or resin since this is going to happen in future on the day of judgment its translation is done in future tense as follows their garments will be made from tar or resin and means and fire will cover their faces may Allah protect us from his punishment now we have the pronoun for third person singular feminine which is ha with Al for example her name is Fatima in Arabic is means name means her name her father is teacher AB her father her mother is is doctor means mother her mother okay now let's have look at this verse from Surah Al verse 5 you can see that the pronoun ha attached to the noun which means neck so her neck in Arabic is and in her neck in Arabic is where the noun is because of preceding it okay alhamdulillah leave the rest of the verse for your homework open the mus and look for the translation and try to understand its construction yourself then we have third person dual feminine which is and it is as same as for masculine so I'll skip it then we have third person plural feminine which is for example their mother let's assume we are referring to females only by saying their mother so in Arabic we say okay let's understand this further with this part of verse from Surah Al Bak verse 187 let's focus on this part of the verse is second person plural masculine and it means you but referring to more than two entities plural okay so here Allah is addressing us the male Muslims okay then we have meaning clothing and then we have this is ative phrase where is meaning for and is an attached pronoun and it means them but referring to females only okay so means and you all of you male Muslims are clothing for them so means they your wives are clothing for you and you you all male Muslims are clothing for them for your wives okay here is another point to be noted let's understand this through the following examples the book is for Muhammad in Arabic we say taking another example the book is for him in Arabic Al you see when is prefixed to Muhammad it has below it and with it has on it so it should be kept in mind that when is prefixed to pronoun it comes with instead of so what are the third person attached pronouns for these are ha for singular for dual and whom for plural and for feminine these are for for and for that's it alhamdulillah don't forget to provide your feedback in the comments and share it with others if you find it useful
